Cases listed before the Bankruptcy and Companies Master
In light of the CORONAVIRUS (COVID – 19) pandemic, and further to the direction of the Lord Chief Justice of 17 March 2020, the Bankruptcy and Companies Master has directed that no oral hearings with the parties and or their legal representatives will take place until further notice, and that all matters currently in the system which are not of critical importance will be adjourned generally.
Final orders will only now be made where the Master is satisfied that either the parties have agreed such an order or that it is right and just in all the circumstances to do so. If the Master has any concerns whatsoever about prejudice and the fairness of the process she will simply adjourn the case. Solicitors should check ICOS for the status of their case or contact the Bankruptcy Office. bankruptcyoffice@courtsni.gov.uk
The Master has also directed that no new business should be issued until further notice unless it is urgent, in which case the reasons for the urgency must be clearly set out in writing for her consideration.
These directions come into effect from Thursday 19 March 2020.
